കുവൈത്തിലെ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണം 10 ലക്ഷം കവിഞ്ഞു. പബ്ലിക് അതോറിറ്റി ഫോര് സിവില് ഇന്ഫര്മേഷന് പുറത്തുവിട്ട കണക്കുകള് പ്രകാരം രാജ്യത്തെ പ്രവാസികളുടെ എണ്ണം 36.7 ലക്ഷമായി ഉയര്ന്നു. വിദേശികളില് ഇന്ത്യക്കാരായ പ്രവാസികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിലാണ് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല് വര്ധനവ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
രാജ്യത്തെ 20 ശതമാനത്തോളം വരുന്ന ജനസംഖ്യയില് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല് ആളുകളും ഇന്ത്യയില് നിന്നുള്ളവരാണ്. ഗാര്ഹിക ജോലിക്കാരില് 40.1 ശതമാനവും സ്വകാര്യ മേഖലയിലെ തൊഴിലാളികളില് 30.8 ശതമാനവും ഇന്ത്യയില് നിന്നുള്ള പ്രവാസികളാണ്. ഈജിപ്തുകാര് രണ്ടാം സ്ഥാനത്തും ബംഗ്ലാദേശികള് മൂന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്തും ഫിലിപ്പീനുകാര് നാലാം സ്ഥാനത്തുമാണെന്നും റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു.
